The Sigma Chapter of Delta Phi Omega was established on April 13, 2003 at the University of Florida, by four women of unique backgrounds with the help of two founding mothers: Heena Bhakta-Palmer, and Sonal Patel. The Remix Founding Class gained membership into the University's Multicultural Greek Council on October 17, 2003, and full membership on November 13, 2004.
On August 9, 2014, the University of Florida establishment of Delta Phi Omega gained recognition as the Sigma Chapter, exemplifying that hard work and dedication truly pays off. Sigma Chapter continues to strive in the Gator Nation with sixteen lines and over seventy sisters strong. Each sister represents the ideals of leadership, sisterhood, service, and academics. The chapter embodies and continues the national legacy of being the strongest, largest, and fast-growing sorority of its kind.

Destined to Prevail against all Odds."
